Change, whether used as a verb or a noun, the meaning is the same; to become different.
Let’s face it, when things change whether it’s in business or life in general, the act of change can cause stress, fear and sometimes resistance. However, with out change, no progress can be made. This week, Tank Service Inc. is experiencing cHaNgE and it has left all of us feeling a bit resistant!
Suzy Sonnier has been part of our work family since 2006. Recently her husband was offered a “dream job” in the Denver, Colorado area. It is not by coincidence that this happened. It could only be an act of serendipity as Suzy’s only daughter, son in law and three beloved grandsons happen to also live in Denver. Suzy and her husband, Seth will be joining them to live in their new forever home over the Thanksgiving holiday where she can enjoy getting to be “mimi” everyday to her grandsons. This change is something to truly be thankful for and a blessing to her family!
For the rest of us at Tank Service Inc., we will sadly not get to see her smiling face every day in the office or feel the joy she brought to each of us with her ever so thoughtful and caring ways. Whether it was business or personal, Suzy had a way of touching your heart! We are incredibly happy for her and selfishly sad that we won’t be seeing her as often.
The GOOD NEWS is that Suzy will still remain an employee of Tank Service Inc. She will continue to help our customers and be a part of our team for a while longer. And YES!! We are all slightly envious that she will be viewing beautiful snow capped mountains and spring time wilderness while she works from her home office but we are oh so grateful that she has agreed to continue to work for us.
And if you haven’t heard…another “good” change at Tank Service Inc. ….we have hired a new team member! Billie Jo Spedale or BJ (that’s me by the way) is going to be helping out with some of Suzy’s “in office” duties. So when you call and hear a new voice (and she asks you lots of questions), be sure to say “hello” and “welcome”! In addition, BJ is going to be writing blogs (like this one) and posting on social media with hopes to build strong relationships and win the hearts of our customers and our employees (much like our beloved Suzy!).

In preparing to write this blog, I found some interesting “tid bits” about CHANGE. I thought they were compelling enough to share as we could all use a bit of advice when it comes to adjusting to change. I for one am adjusting to my new job with Tank Service Inc., a new area of business in tank containers and chassis and now having to say good bye to my co-worker who has helped me learn the ropes of this new endeavor! And even though she is only a cyber-second away, I will miss her just as much as the rest of us!
Please enjoy all the pictures of Suzy’s farewell lunch (posted in an album on Facebook ) and these publications on change Why Change is So Difficult and 11 Calming Reminders That Change is a Good Thing.
This is not good-bye, it’s see you later…
